Prophet Mohammad used to say:
مالى وللدنيا، إنما مثلى ومثل الدنيا كمثل راكب قال فى ظل شجرة ثم راح وتركها
"What have I to do with this life? The likeness of me and this life is like a rider who rests in the shade of a tree [for a while], and then departs and leaves it."
"What have I to do with this life? The likeness of me and this life is like a rider who rests in the shade of a tree [for a while], and then departs and leaves it."
Ali ibn Abi-Talib. the companion of the Prophet , may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, used to say:
إن الدنيا قد ارتحلت مدبرة، وإن الآخرة قد ارتحلت مقبلة، ولكل منهما بنون، فكونوا من ابناء
الآخرة ، ولا تكونوا من أبناء الدنيا. فإن اليوم عمل ولا حساب، وغدا حساب ولا عمل
"This life is departing from us, and the Hereafter is travelling towards us, and each of them has children. So, be children of the Hereafter, and do not be children of this life. Today, there is action without reckoning, and tomorrow there will be reckoning without action."

My dearest Rowaa, these are certainly words of wisdom there is not much anyone could add to them concise and meaningful, If we can internalise this belief we will succeed in freeing ourselves from any worldly attachment and focus on the hereafter so that our souls will develop and attain the level of serenity. The worldly attachment, I think of them as chains keeping us tied to this world and have an adverse effect on our souls which is contrary to our desires want to be free. The constant awareness and the remembrance of Allah will, Insha Allah, help us to achieve serenity and the ultimate happiness in the hereafter. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about death and the last journey, it might sound morbid and depressive to some people, but the truth is, death is the beginning of an eternal life. May Allah help us to prepare for this journey and accept us in his mercy. Ameen.

Masha Allah, I love all these Qur'anic reminders.
this reminds me of surah al-Asr, when it describes the believers who are winners, that they are those who invite each other to the truth and who encourage each other to be patient on the way of the truth.
Sister Safeeyah, Jazaki Allah khayran and sister Bahiya. Both of your comments enrich the blog and add a lot of valuable information.
Alhamdulillah for His blessings
Rowaa
Jazki Allahu Khayran Safeeya, my dear sister, there is a strong bond between the believers, and that is the love of Allah. I love you all for the love of Allah, and for His love, Insha Allah, He will shade us under His shade, on the day when there is No Other shade, In the Furdaws Al-A'ala. Ameen
